Island Vis

Island is located in the islands group of centre Dalmaci with the most high point Hum (587). On the south and east coast are small bays with pebbly and sandy beaches. Opposite the southeast coast are some small islands.

Large bay Komiza is located at west coast. Viska luka is located at northeast coast bay Viska luka. Island has a modern water tank. Fertile field are situated mostly in higher position and are using for growing of vine. The chief occupations are growing of vine and vegetable and fishing. In the years 1945 – 1989 was the island close for foreigners. After the year 1989 is there rapid development of tourism.
